Who We Are

The Comic Geek Speak app is operated by Comic Geek Speak, LLP. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with the Comic Geek Speak iOS application.

Information We Collect

To provide app features, we may collect or process:

  • Device and app usage. The app may use standard technologies (such as device identifiers) to deliver push notifications and to understand basic usage (e.g., that the app was opened).
  • Push notification data. If you enable notifications, we use a push token (provided by Apple) to send you alerts for new episodes or announcements. This token is processed by our notification service (e.g., Firebase Cloud Messaging) and is not used to identify you personally.
  • Content you access. When you stream or download episodes, our servers and content delivery networks receive requests associated with your IP address. We do not link this to a named account unless you contact us and we associate your message with your identity.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Deliver push notifications you have opted into (new episodes, announcements).
  • Operate and improve the app and our podcast services.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

Third-Party Services

The app may use third-party services that process data on our behalf:

  • Apple. The app is distributed through the App Store. Apple’s privacy policy applies to your use of the App Store and certain Apple services (e.g., push notification delivery).
  • Firebase / Google. We may use Firebase (e.g., Cloud Messaging) to send push notifications. Google’s privacy policy applies to data processed by Firebase: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Content delivery. Audio and images may be delivered via content delivery networks or hosting providers; they may log IP addresses and request metadata.

Data Retention

We retain push tokens and related technical data only as long as needed to send notifications and operate the app. Server logs (e.g., IP, request timestamps) may be kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data transmitted or stored in connection with the app. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

You can:

  • Turn off push notifications in your iPhone Settings → Notifications → Comic Geek Speak.
  • Uninstall the app at any time; we will stop sending you notifications once the app is removed.
  • Contact us (see below) to ask about the data we hold or to request correction or deletion where applicable.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received such information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (e.g., in the app or via email if we have it).
